PULLLEN: Jon Kyl for Republican Whip
Phoenix, AZ—Arizona Republican Party Chairman Randy Pullen today said both Arizona and America would benefit from US Senator Jon Kyl serving as Republican Whip.
“Arizona is blessed with a strong Republican congressional delegation,” Pullen said. “Among that group, however, Senator Kyl stands out for his decades of conservative leadership and service.
“At a time when Arizona is facing the challenges and opportunities of rapid population growth, Senator Kyl has been our strongest advocate in Washington,” Pullen said. “And at a time when America faces greater and deadlier dangers from terrorists and emerging threats around the world, there has been no greater defender of our security than Jon Kyl.
“In the US Senate, not only has Jon distinguished himself with decades of conservative leadership, he has also earned the respect of his fellow Senators and has hence been successful advancing a pro-Arizona, pro-America legislative agenda in an institution that rightly considers itself the greatest deliberative body in the land,” Pullen said.
“Jon is a patriot and a fine US Senator,” Pullen said. “Arizona and our great nation would be well-served to have my friend, Jon Kyl, serving as Republican Whip.”
Senator Jon Kyl today holds the seat previously held by Republican US Senator Barry Goldwater. He was first elected to the US Senate in 1994, having previously served in the US House of Representatives from 1987 to 1995.
Senator Kyl is an honors graduate of the University of Arizona and the University of Arizona’s James E. Rogers College of Law, where he served as editor-in-chief of the Arizona Law Review. Senator Kyl and his wife Caryll have two children and four grandchildren.
